History

Black Oak Auto Body began in 1948 as "Black Oak Garage". At that time, Augie Heim the owner did all kinds of repairs from oil changes, to small auto body repairs. He developed a great reputation and was known and loved by everyone in the town. After 31 years of business, he sold the business to Paul Vigilant and Bill Frenzel.

The focus with the new owners was strictly the best auto body repairs in the county. They purchased the newest frame equipment and added a downdraft spray booth for efficiency, safety and quality.They both were owner/operators and it was not odd to see the owners doing the paperwork in the office and working on your car.

Through the years we have always kept up with the changing trends and procedures to repair your vehicle correctly. In 2004, after being in the industry for over 45 years, Paul decided to retire and in came Art Tupaczewski. With his experience in auto body and 7 years in the insurance company side, he brought many new and fresh ideas to the company. For over 12 years Bill and Art continued the tradition of quality and customer service as has been done for the prior 60 years. In February of 2016, it was time for Bill himself to retire after bringing over 40 years of experience to Black Oak Auto Body. As he will be missed, Art vowed to not only continue the quality commitment, but to deliver the best customer service in our history.
